SPEAKER_05

All right. We have the beautiful, the athletic, the intelligent, the champion. Did I miss anything else? Should I keep going?

SPEAKER_02

Stop. Keep going.

SPEAKER_05

Wendy Fortino. How you doing?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm good. I'm good. No, it's been a long time coming, and here we are.

SPEAKER_05

So that's okay. Yeah, Lee's gonna be a little bit late. Um I try to uh uh change the time so he's available because you know he's all the way in Australia, but he's gonna be a little late, but he'll be he'll be on. He always comes on, he never disappoints. How are you? How you doing?

SPEAKER_02

I'm good, I'm good. Oh my gosh, I so much, so much going on. Um, I know that you and Lee have been consistent with this for quite some time now. Yeah, and and so this has become the the John and Lee show.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. It's called shooting the breeze because we don't know what the hell we're gonna talk about.

SPEAKER_02

That's okay. That's all right. Let's go.

SPEAKER_05

When when when Lee's on, you never know what the hell's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. I know. I always so I've interviewed him several times, and it's funny because I always like do so much preparation when I interview somebody, but anytime I have Lee on, I that's like the one person that I don't prepare at all because it doesn't matter. I just go, you know what, we're gonna talk about whatever whatever Lee wants to talk about. There's no preparation needed, we're good. Let's just go.

SPEAKER_05

And here he is actually preparation height. What's up, big Lee?

SPEAKER_02

John, you didn't get the memo. We're looking, we're all matching, and you didn't get the memo.

SPEAKER_05

I have a little bit of green, a little bit of green. Um I'm wearing gray. Oh, oh, it's just it's just the lighting. Oh, yeah, it's just the lighting. Yeah, we're we're a little underdressed for for uh for Wendy. Wendy looks like she's about to go to like a wedding or something.

SPEAKER_07

Should I go put it should have worn a top t-shirt as like a tuxedo on the t-shirt or something?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, really. Well, Wendy, no, you look great. I'm only teasing you. Uh okay, big Lee, what's up?

SPEAKER_07

I'm down, I'm down the middle here. I'm like a rose between two forms. That's right. How are you doing, man? How's everything going? Good. I had uh got up at 3 a.m. Didn't want to go to the gym and do legs, but I forced myself, did cardio, come home, did laundry, sorted through some clothes that I'm gonna throw out, then went out of mode four acres, and then yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Say it again, Wendy. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

We had a GTL day.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, that's right. That's right, that's right. So, Wendy, tell us what you're up to. What have you been doing in the bodybuilding world as of late?

SPEAKER_02

Well, uh, so in the bodybuilding world, I am I I don't have any shows mapped out right now. I've just been so busy with uh with all my projects and you know running around doing media and things like that. So trying to stay still in shape, but no.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Well, when was the last time you competed? It's been some time, right?

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, so the beginning of last year. And then I didn't I didn't finish off my season. I ended up doing media at the Olympia, which was really, really fun for me because it was the first year in nine years that I did not compete in the Olympia. So I was more like doing the interviews with the athletes and doing more behind the scenes. I had an interview with Lee on the muscle fitness stage, so that was fun.

SPEAKER_07

Ah, the best the best interview was when she was interviewing Kai Green and she asked Kai Green a question at the same time. I'm walking past, I just yelled out, get to the fucking point.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I would rather. I would there's plenty of people that I've interviewed and I would love to interview, but Kai Green is last on the list. Only because only because I would, but by the time he gets to an answer, it's like I would it goes deep, he goes deep into the answer.

SPEAKER_02

I love Kai. I love Kai.

SPEAKER_05

Uh yeah, I mean, I'm sure he's a nice guy. It's just, you know, it's just I'd rather give myself yes or no answers, Kai. Yes or no, one word answers. I'd rather give myself a paper cut and pull lemon juice on it and interview Kai Green.

SPEAKER_02

It's it's interesting because I actually am potentially gonna be doing a project with Kai. We're gonna I have a like a posing like a posing uh concept that I want to do on a podcast, and I'll I'll reveal more about that later, but um actually it was uh probably gonna be working on that with Kai. So Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So what what year did you turn pro, Wendy?

SPEAKER_02

I turned pro in 2011. I won the overall at the USA. Okay, and and then I made it to my first Olympia in 2014. Um and then and then yeah, eight Olympias later. Here we are.

SPEAKER_05

All right, very nice. And what was your best placing at the Olympia?

SPEAKER_02

12th, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. So I I have uh I have one question for you. Um Were you always figure? And not that one question, I have one question I've had in mind for some time, but you what were you always figure?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because when I first started competing in 2008, it was just figure, fitness, and bodybuilding. Okay, and so yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Here's my question to you. And I already have an answer in the back of my head, but I want to see what your answer is gonna be. Yeah, I have I have I I've thought I actually was thinking about it.

SPEAKER_06

Tell us your answer first, George.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I don't know. I want Wendy to when you turned pro in 2011, figure figure was hugely popular.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

And I mean, I know that they added a lot of uh women's divisions and whatnot, and then for a little while it was women's physique that was very popular, and you know, and and um then now it's uh wellness that's that's very popular, but the women's divisions it seems to go in in and out of trend.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh why do you think that is?

SPEAKER_02

Well, there's a that's a very layered question. I think um when figure when I first started competing, you know, and it was really just figure and fitness. Anyone who didn't want to couldn't start right out of the gate with bodybuilding, most people can't just jump right into bodybuilding. It was like that was the only thing available to women who want to compete in the in the sport, right? So you had all different body types, you know, women who like were tall with narrow shoulders, long torsos, little muscle, a lot of muscle, like everyone was kind of in that same exact, you know, class. And then when bikini was added, it really appealed to a whole nother market of women who weren't able to gain the amount of muscle. And then we started seeing body types emerge and kind of find their way. And then I think that what was going on was as each division was advancing and different body types were emerging, the new categories were kind of catering to these different body types. So, you know, we noticed that there were women who they were taller, they had more narrow shoulders, they didn't have a lot of muscle. Okay, like, okay, that looks like more of like someone who would fit into bikini. And then the figure division was kind of getting a little bit crazier. Women were getting a little bit more muscular. They wanted to temper that a little bit. So they're like, why don't we add another division for the more muscular women? I remember Dana Lynn Bailey came out and she was, you know, a little bit too muscular for figure, but she had such a great physique. And she was your our first women's physique Olympia champion. I was like, oh my gosh, now we have a place for the women who were a little bit too muscular to be put into the bracket of figure and they could still be successful. And then we kind of kept going along, and we had women who were so beautiful competing in bikini, but they had more muscle on their glutes and their legs. It's like, oh, these are such beautiful bodies. Like, what do we do with this? And then the women's wellness division was added. And I think with any new thing, it's kind of like the new, the shiny object. It you nailed it. It's just the shine, you know, it's like you go like that's the reason. Figure, I think, is figure is interesting because it's oh it's it's such a beautiful division, but it kind of sits in the middle of this, you know, you have like bikini and fit model that draws a lot of participation, and then you have the wellness division that's like hot and popular and everything, and then figure is like it's all about like this perfect symmetry and proportion. Nobody really feels like, oh, I'm perfect, like I'm gonna fit fit there. It's kind of made its way in like the middle of the pack, and it's kind of fallen off of the radar, and it's not really that popular right now.

SPEAKER_07

Fit model, fit model.

SPEAKER_02

It is popular for people to want to do it.

SPEAKER_05

Of course, it's pop of course it's popular because you don't have to do anything to fucking get in it. All right, so let me tell you what the what the what I think, and and again, I uh oh Gwendy just gave you the politically correct reason. I'm not gonna give us the guy green answer. I'm I'm not gonna I'm not gonna give you the politically correct reason, but if anybody knows uh a little bit about women's human nature, it this is no surprise. Um generally speaking, women usually like to follow the trend, the trendy new hot thing. I mean, we see it all the time, we see it in anything. I mean, 85% of uh of uh of uh consumer debt is from women because they like to jump on the newest trendy thing. Men could like wear the same pants for 10 years, they don't give a shit, right? But the new hot Louis Vuitton bag comes out and all the women got to jump on it. And that's what I think. I don't think that women uh change in the bodybuilding world. I think it's the same thing. I think they want to jump into what's hot. You know, in 2014, 2013, it was bikini was really hot. Everybody wanted to be in bikini, and I remember girls that had muscle and people were saying, Hey, you should do figure, they would be like, No, no, no, no, I want to do uh bikini, and they would try to lose muscle to it to do it. And now you see all the girls that want to do wellness. I mean, I can't if forget about doing glutes, are like there are girls in the gym doing glutes and and and quads and seven days a week, and they all want to do wellness, and even if they don't fit but body women's bodybuilding is a little different. Women's bodybuilding, bodybuilding for women usually picks the women, yeah, if that makes sense, because it it they don't have when they start lifting it, you the muscle comes quick and and fast and a lot. It's usually uh they're genetically, they're genetically predisposed to be bodybuilding, but any other category, women generally want to be in that popular category. So right now it's wellness, and uh it's actually I was always uh more of a fan of uh the figure and physique and even bodybuilding, like these things like wellness, bikini.

SPEAKER_02

Um to me, it was like uh yeah, yeah, uh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I couldn't get excited about it.

SPEAKER_02

You like those glutes, those big booties.

SPEAKER_05

I don't mind big booties. I don't I don't mind it. I I just don't like I don't like the I don't like the jumping on the trend, jumping on the new hot thing because it's new. I'll give you another example. This is a great example, Wendy. You'll love this. My wife has a um uh she has a hair salon for 10 years, right? Right next door to her store, just opened up last week a coffee shop, a new coffee shop. And apparently uh coffee in the States is very trendy now. There is a line around the fucking corner just to get a uh coffee from this place every day, and it's all girls, they're all waiting to get ten dollar cup of coffee from this new coffee place, and it's wrapped around. And I told my wife, don't worry. She's like, nobody could my customers can't park. And I'm like, Don't worry, it it won't last. Believe me, it's you know, tomorrow it'll be tea, and everybody'll be drinking tea.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean that personally, I think that's that's a good comparison. Um, I but here's the thing though there's a difference. There's there's the the fan favorite, and then there's the uh participation favorite, if that makes sense. You know, you have the divisions that attract a lot of uh a lot of athletes that want to come on and do those divisions, and that but then you also have I think it's not the same world where you have the divisions that the fans are more attracted to, right? I mean, fans want to see the open bodybuilding, the fans want to see the classic physique, the fans want to see the fans are interested in wellness division. That's like be that's it seems to be like a fan favorite division, you know. Um, the fans are into those divisions. Um, and then you have the divisions that attract a lot of participation, you know, the fit model division, it allows more people to be able to step on the stage and the bikini and men's physique. I mean, these divisions aren't necessarily fan favorites, but they are participation favorites, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no, absolutely. It makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

Is that right?

SPEAKER_05

No, I 100% makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

I knew I said it right, but I might piss someone off.

SPEAKER_05

No, not at all. And it it uh it 100% makes sense because it's still it's still the to be the a fan of a new category is still the trend. So, yeah, absolutely it makes a hundred percent sense. Yeah, I mean, what's happening with you, man? You're all quiet over there. Usually you're interrupting, and I gotta tell you to shut up.

SPEAKER_07

I was listening, I'll be I was letting the lady speak.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're being polite. I forgot what you're doing. I just interrupt you.

SPEAKER_07

I don't I don't interrupt women, I just interrupt you. I wouldn't go that far. Come on.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, you are.

SPEAKER_07

I guess you are.

SPEAKER_05

I'm drinking, I'm drinking this. What is it? Oh god, thank God. Did you start drinking now?

SPEAKER_02

That looks like it's kind of good.

SPEAKER_05

It's a vodka drink. It's only six percent, Sean. That's vodka crush. It doesn't matter. You can have like you know, 200%, and you'll be drunk.

SPEAKER_07

I've still gotta I still gotta sell these online yet.

SPEAKER_02

Like the same amount of alcohol as a kombucha.

SPEAKER_07

Look, I got these Arno Classic parsers. I still gotta sell online. What are you gonna do with that now?

SPEAKER_02

He sells them.

SPEAKER_07

My Olympia one, I my Olympia linear. Yeah, my my Olympia thing like this and two room keys went for eight hundred dollars. I got I got I got three of these and I got three room keys.

SPEAKER_05

Who the hell? You know, I mean Lee, Wendy, me and Lee have become such good friends that I forgot like that he's a bodybuilding legend, and I'm like, who the fuck is gonna buy that? And like Lee could literally like shit in a box and sell it. It's unbelievable.

SPEAKER_02

You're checked out of your hotel before you start selling your room keys. You don't want to never know who's gonna pop up in your room.

SPEAKER_07

I might get lucky.

SPEAKER_02

You might get lucky.

SPEAKER_07

You know, yeah, what you know what I did get yesterday, I must spring up. I've tried to get a hold of my accountant, but the one website that I do stuff for, it's um IFBVAMA and net NAPS gear. They pay you in crypto, right? So I don't deal in crypto, you just open a crypto wallet, they put the crypto into the wallet, and I go in, I convert it from the Bitcoin to Australian dollars, and I transfer to my account, which I declared all in my tax last year. Then I get letters saying we're ordering you for 2024. We see you got a hundred thousand in crypto, so you didn't put any loss or gains on this, so you owe tax of 53,000. If you deal if you deal in crypto, they they take 50%. But then I looked it up online because I get paid crypto as a salary, it's a different, just like a normal tax bracket. So I gotta I gotta go through all this shit now to try and work it out. Otherwise, they want 50,000 out of it.

SPEAKER_06

Well, actually, I'm room keys, lanyards, everything's going. I'll sign it, I'll sign a can.

SPEAKER_05

I I gotta I got very lucky uh this year, uh Wendy, um, because since Donald Trump, whether you like him or dislike him, since he signs the big beautiful deal, I'm actually able to write off all my overtime.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, a lot of people are benefiting from the big beautiful deal. You know, regardless of what you think. That is it is there are people that are saying, yeah, this is actually beneficial.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so you could write you could write off uh so because I'm married, I could write off up to$24,000 in um yeah, in overtime.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, it was like the first like$30,000 of of income I didn't have to worry about getting taxed on. It was like something, something like that. It was like, okay, all right.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, let's do it. Here in Australia, I think it's like$24,000 because I'll start off with what I've made, but by the time I put in all my deductibles, it brings it right down to that$24,000 mark. So sometimes I don't have to pay tax, and sometimes I do. John, because you do on podcasts, anything you buy, clothing, you can claim on tax because you have to when you get your hair done, John. Yeah, you can claim that on tax.

SPEAKER_02

His hair, no, this is not plural.

SPEAKER_05

His hair, my razors. I could write off my razors for my hair. No, I do. I I write off everything, like pretty much my uh t-shirts, um, equipment, uh anything I could possibly write off, you know. But yeah, it is what it is. You gotta you gotta see, John.

SPEAKER_07

Did you see the big news that Miss Wendy is gonna be doing the media in Nashville?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, oh really? I will be there, Wendy.

SPEAKER_02

Are you yes?

SPEAKER_05

John's coming to hang out with Lee for a bit. It's gonna be a shit show, Wendy.

SPEAKER_02

I'm so excited, that's gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_05

It is actually gonna be fun because last time we hung out, it was fun. Last time me and Lee came to Jersey and we hung out, we we we got we got we got drunk. It was it was pretty fun.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if I can hang step aside. Wendy's coming into town. Yeah, I'm uh I do a lot like all the expos that happen in California, like that's fun and everything, but it'll be fun. Um, you know, Lee helped me push outside of my comfort zone here and go out to Nashville.

SPEAKER_05

So it'll be fun so tell me exactly what you're gonna be doing in Nashville.

SPEAKER_02

So the Music City Fit Expo is uh June 5th and 6th, and I'm gonna be going interview, I'm gonna be kind of covering all the fun things going on, um, doing like official media for uh the Music City City Fit Expo, um, interviewing the athletes like Lee and Oh, you have to you have to interview that boring Jotligh.

SPEAKER_07

Interview me. Can you interview me?

SPEAKER_05

Maybe get me a little bit better of a following. Yeah, interview John.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I'll interview. I'm interviewing all of the vendors and very nice. Just basically, just basically doing the coverage and uh getting all that content out there so that everybody knows about the Music City Fit Expo.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, very nice. Interview you. She's gonna interview you while you're doing karaoke on Friday night.

SPEAKER_05

You gotta come with us. If you're gonna be there, you gotta come with us. We're gonna go out, we're gonna do find a karaoke bar.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna bring all my gear with me to the karaoke bar and get that for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah. You need to, it's gonna be a blank because I already have like songs lined up in my you have a cowboy hat, John. I'm gonna get one. You know, they actually have good cowboy hat and boot shops in Nashville. I'm gonna buy a fucking cowboy hat, I'm gonna buy it one one of those like 10-gallon.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm telling you right now, it's like you can put so much effort into your content, you can prepare all the things, right? But the stuff that goes viral is the stuff that you would like least expect getting you two on karaoke. I mean, well, that's probably the one that's gonna go viral. That's the thing. It's like of all the stuff that you put so much effort into, that's the stuff that goes viral.

SPEAKER_07

It's do you remember we gotta sing we gotta sing Endless Love or do it? Oh my god, you two.

SPEAKER_05

Do you remember? Do you remember when Stallone made that movie with Dolly Porton in the 80s when he would yeah, what was that? Rhinestone Cowboy.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, Ryan Stone Cowboy. That's gonna be me. I like that song now. I like that song, Ryan Stone Cowboy.

SPEAKER_02

Give me a little preview.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I got him on my I got him on my playlist. The guy that sings that died though, didn't he?

SPEAKER_05

I think it's did he really? Rhinestone cowboy. I don't know. I don't follow, I don't I don't know. I I I followed Dolly Potton, so of course you do.

SPEAKER_02

The way you said that was a little creepy.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, you're right.

SPEAKER_05

John followed John follows anyone with big breastuses. Yeah, I'm a I'm a boob guy. I'm a boob guy, Wendy.

SPEAKER_02

Someone said that in the comments. Someone said that in the comments, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's very, it's but here's the thing though, like here's the here's the thing. Here's sometimes sometimes I get I get you know sideswiped. Sometimes I get like like, whoa, what happened? Like, yeah, I I like I'm a big boob guy, but I think Linda Murray is the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on. Yeah, like I is it's unbelievable how more beautiful she gets with age. She reminds me of um I know she does. She reminds me of Angela Bassett. Why don't why don't you talk to Wendy and see if she'll get Linda on your show with you? I've had Linda on my show, and I actually told her that when she came on. That's why she never been back.

SPEAKER_02

Back, she didn't come back after that. That was it. That was all she wrote. No, she is a vampire, we think. Um we don't know what's going on, it doesn't make sense to us, but we just go with it. And uh yeah, she's absolutely stunning. Stunning in person. She's I mean, we have our little slumber parties and we exchange skin secrets, but uh, but I still don't know what the heck she's doing. It's it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_05

And I I interviewed her right after she did that documentary about who was the girl that killed her husband.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah. Sally Sally, Sally McDonald's.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, right after that I had her on. And it was always uh it was it was it turned out to be pretty good. But yeah, it was a good it was a good interview. But yeah, I told her I don't care. I'm sorry what'd you say, Wendy?

SPEAKER_02

Go ahead, Lee. Go ahead, Lee. Sorry.

SPEAKER_07

I was just gonna ask Wendy how she's enjoying doing the podcast with Suki.

SPEAKER_02

I'm enjoying it, yeah. It's awesome. We had uh Mike Sommerfeld this morning, and um Ryan Terry got to talk to Mike, and uh he's he's such a nice guy, you know.

SPEAKER_07

I'm Ryan Terry and Mike. There's one I know I I know I won't have to watch. Thanks.

SPEAKER_05

Now tell us tell us what podcast that is and who's Suki, because I'm a little behind.

SPEAKER_02

So beyond the stage TV, Suki stays behind the scenes a lot. So it would be makes sense if you don't totally know who he is. He whenever he posts his content, he stays out of it. So he's kind of like this mysterious behind the scenes. Um, and so he and I are hosting, co-hosting a show called Monday Night Muscle. And after every weekend, we're uh this, I think we're on episode number four, and we just cover what had just happened. So we covered the Arnold, we had we've had Lee on to kind of come and talk about the up-and-coming guys, give his take. And he was actually seemed pretty prepared, Lee, for the fact that you talk about your you were, I mean, you were on it. You were on the case.

SPEAKER_07

I can I can I can fake it anytime.

SPEAKER_02

You were you were amazing insight. I mean you had it all on, and it was it was huge. Lee was awesome. And then we had uh we're covering, we covered the Arnold, then we covered the Arnold UK. It's cool because you know, we get these guys like fresh off of their wins. We had Neil, so Mike Sommerfeld's coach Neil, we actually had as a guest heading into the Arnold UK, which was really cool to get his take on their process and what they were planning to do. And then after the fact, you know, have Mike on winning the show. That was it was really cool.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's very cool. I don't think I could do that. I I think I can only work for myself because I'm too straightforward and blunt. I don't know if you guys saw my UK wrap-up or my yes, I did. All my UK uh shorts that I put on Instagram and TikTok, and I kind of just ripped into everybody. I just and I and I plan on doing more because somebody else pissed me off today, and um right after this, I'm doing another one.

SPEAKER_07

Who's uh I still don't I still don't know. I I just got another ticket. I'm not going. Remember, John, I showed you my ticket, they're gonna fly me from Sydney to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Denver, Denver to Germany. But now they're gonna go Thai airlines from Sydney to Bangkok, Bangkok, Germany. Of course they were too slow, they missed out on buying that ticket. So now I'm back to Sydney, Dubai, Dubai, Germany. So if I if I get shot down over Dubai, it was nice knowing you all, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, thank you. Thanks for throwing that. You if you want to tell us the weather while you're at it, too, that's fine. Um so yeah, so I um was very uh blunt and straightforward and told a lot of 26 degrees slightly blind from peace.

SPEAKER_04

What did you say?

SPEAKER_05

78. What did you say that this people outlets were are being too nice, uh and and they're not giving the just do who deserves just do, and they're being too nice to the bodybuilders who don't need uh need props. It's uh it's unbelievable. Like, um, for example, you brought up Mike Sommerfeld, and I'm sure he's a great guy, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I'm not going to be, you know, uh applauding the fact that he finally came in wait. He's supposed to come and wait, he's a professional.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, there's a diplomatic way of saying that because people think that I'm so nice, but I am very honest. Like for me, I just approach it differently, but I but we we might have the same take. Like, for example, I say, you know, I really let me be Mike Summerfield.

SPEAKER_07

I'm Mike Sommerfield, yeah. Hi, John and Wendy. Hi, John and Wendy. Yeah, we Neil and I finally got it together, and we find I finally got it together for the show and I won this show. Now carry on, John. How if I was him, go ahead.

SPEAKER_05

What I would say, I would be like, why why why is it so difficult for you to make weight? This is the third time.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know, John.

SPEAKER_05

I just listened uh listened to Neil and just probably fans that are waiting to see you. They put your name, you put their paper up.

SPEAKER_07

I know I let the fans down, but listen to Neil, and I don't know what happened with Detroit. I had a whole week, had a whole week to get my name down for Detroit. Why are you fucked up there? Oh, because I needed to go see Neil in Vegas, and then I forgot the time zone, and then yeah, so I just wasted a whole another week. So are you entitled or stupid?

SPEAKER_02

I did. He was he was very open about that. He did, he opened up about that. He felt terrible, and he did not, he was not trying to pad his, you know, his journey.

SPEAKER_07

He was very easy to feel terrible after you read all the comments and know how people are thinking about you. Yeah, then you come back on it. Let's see. Look, look at that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but what did you say that it it's like you're you're listening to you're listening to the feedback loop and you're responding to it. Maybe that's part of your journey, and that it's it's melding you into a stronger, more capable attitude.

SPEAKER_05

Your journey. Well, here's the here's the thing it'll it'll be it, it could be sincere. We won't know until we see what the future holds. Right? Like I could say, I'm sorry, and I let the fans know, blah blah blah blah, all you know, all day long. But if he misses weight again next time, or the time after that, or the time after that, then we know he's full of shit. If he stays on his game and or and or decides, hey, look, uh, it's too difficult for me to come and wait. I'm gonna start doing opener 212. Okay, I can I can go with that. That's fine. Um, but uh, but but just because somebody says, Oh, yeah, I know I let this fans down. Well, okay, let's see how you are in the future, because that will tell me if you're sincere or not. You gave Martin's props.

SPEAKER_07

I like that.

SPEAKER_05

I destroyed him.

SPEAKER_02

That's that's a part of the pressure of being at the top, though. That's that is what makes being at the top so that's it's it's not for the faint of heart because you are at the top and you're dealing with the scrutiny, you're dealing with the fans and the critics, and you're doing it.

SPEAKER_05

If you can't handle being a public figure, go be a plumber.

SPEAKER_02

I I could not agree more with that. That's the thing, it's like that's where we see the cream that rises at the top, right? So to your point, I would agree. And I am fake cream. I would say yes, you have God. I would say, John, I agree with you completely because this is where we see the cream rise to the top. Some can't handle it, but we see if they can handle it, then we gain more respect for them. So, you know, as we continue to see, you know, um Mike rise to the top, we see him being able to handle the the the pressure. And this is one moment where he handled it and he showed us that he could be resilient against uh the adversity. So, you know, give that give him that that feather and that check and like continue to see the the evolution, is what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_05

I will when he does on a consistent, you know. Well, you know, here's here's the thing.

SPEAKER_07

Like, I'm I I'm he's not he's not he's not coming out of stage for a chemo going into fucking remission, it's a fucking contest you gotta die for for God's sake.

SPEAKER_05

I will give him I will give him his just do I will give him his just due when he's when he uh is consistent.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_05

When okay, the person that um I know I don't have the biggest podcast, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I'm giving it a person that I gave the biggest in this podcast.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, 100%. The person I gave the biggest credit to, which I think more people need to give more credit to, is Brandon Curry. Exactly. As far as I nobody is saying the fact this this number two, this second place to Andrew Jack at 43 years old, former Mr. Olympia, for uh uh former Arnold multiple Arnold Classic winner, he has basically put himself in legendary status. He is as of right, as far as I'm concerned, as of right now, the most consistent and probably one of the greatest bodybuilders ever lived. And nobody's saying it. And I would just we keep talking about fucking uh Martin and we keep talking about Mike Sommerfeld, and it's like, dude, let's give this guy some serious prize.

SPEAKER_07

Brandon can go on like be like Dexter, he could be like Dexter and just keep competing and winning smaller shows. He might not win the Olympia or Arnold, but Brendan can win some smaller shows and still do great, like Dexter did for at least at least another five years.

SPEAKER_05

And he's already, yeah, as long as like you know, all things being equal, right? And he doesn't get hurt and no, you know, doesn't get sick, if age doesn't just creep up on him, yeah. But the guy won the Olympia once, multiple honor classic winner, and he's still dangerous at 43 years old, like he's still beating the young guys. We need to give him more credit.

SPEAKER_02

I agree, I agree.

SPEAKER_05

But instead of applauding uh Martin Fitzwater for just basically showing up and not having a mutt meltdown, to me, I can't I can't give him credit for that.

SPEAKER_02

But our people though, I mean I don't know he's I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm yeah, I agree with you.

SPEAKER_02

I think I think that we all sleep on Brandon Curry a little bit too much. Like it's it's crazy to me that when we talk about you know the top guys, the top five, we're people are getting we're we're all giving our predictions. For some reason, we leave him out of the conversation too much, and he is continuous to show that he will maybe you don't no, I think you're right.

SPEAKER_05

You happen to be.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, even when I do bring him up, I feel like it's he should never be an afterthought. He is somebody who should be in the conversation and he should be at the top of our minds. And I do I feel like we really should be bringing him more.

SPEAKER_05

He retires, he retires today. He's in the he's in the conversation of best of all time. Top 10.

SPEAKER_07

It's almost like it's almost like you said before though, when something new comes along, everyone jumps on. You know, look how Nick's got in great shape again. And it's almost like because Brandon's been there for a long time now, people forget about him. And when somebody new comes along or someone hits their peak, that's all they talk about is this person or that person, and forget about Brandon.

SPEAKER_05

But you should never forget about him. Brandon Brandon proved it again. Brandon basically proved it again in in this Arnold UK. You know, he basically, you know, listen, Andrew decided he didn't do it, he wasn't gonna do it. He would have won this show, clearly. Yeah, like not even close. Um, that's a good question for you, Wendy. Why do you why do you think with such money on the line with prize money, these guys aren't doing the show? This was a lot of money.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_05

Why do you think why do you think Nick or Hottie or uh Bonack or uh Brandau didn't do this show? It was a lot of money at stake.

SPEAKER_02

I was wondering the same thing, actually.

SPEAKER_07

I was I was go to IFB AMA and you can watch Lee's Lee's response to why he thinks these guys aren't doing shows. Oh well tell me, it's badly.

SPEAKER_02

I I was actually, John, it's funny that you're asking me this because I have been perplexed myself, wondering why we don't see them, you know, competing at the at the big shows. Um, I part of me, there's there's layers to this, but I feel like one trend that I have noticed since I've been around for a long time is as we have more of the social media, more of the scrutiny, more on the line, more at stake with reputations and with you know, risking, you know, oh my gosh, if I don't get this placing, I'm ruining my status or my whatever. I feel like that could have some contribution to what we're noticing in terms of like people not competing as much. I don't know. I it's it's interesting to me because I even thought, you know, I was wondering why, you know, Nick didn't do Detroit. And that was that was another one that I was perplexed about. But you know, I agree with you. I I don't know why we're not seeing more of those guys doing those top shows. At least the week.

SPEAKER_07

Because last last year and the everyone at the Arnold, everyone at the Arnold should have gone to Detroit and then went to the Arnold UK because back in my day, back in my day, we all did the Iron Man. The week after the Iron Man was the Arnold, the week after the Arnold was the San Francisco, and everyone that did the Iron Man did the Arnold, pretty much did the San Francisco. They're only a week apart and you put all that hard work into diving. You know, people say, look, I won't say they're lazy, but you know, to be where you are, you've got to not be lazy, you've got to train that. But I think the mental aspect of it's just gone. Whereas back then, as even John Mancini says, we're hungrier back then to kick contracts, we had to compete to get on magazine coverage, you had to compete to get into magazines. So I think we're hungry now. Guys can be like, I'll do this show. Okay, if I don't do any other shows, I'm still making money from YouTube, I'm still making money from whereas whereas before the only way to make money was competing, but still, we never did it for the money. We just did it because you work your ass off to get in shape. And if there's free shows back to back, you do the whole free show.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_07

And generally the more shows you're doing, like Wesley said, you get better at, you know, it might be okay at the first show, second show, you're a bit tighter again, next show you're a bit tighter, as long as you're not doing anything crazy like that last night before with diuretics and shit. But yeah, it's just like the port of stoppers out when there's shows back to back. I don't I don't get it, especially because back when I was competing, you win a show, it was 10 grand. Now you got shows. Oh, what happened to him?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, right in the middle of his thought. Oh man. All right, okay. In his day, in his day. So so what I want to know to finish off his his statement is uh back in his day, he went ten thousand dollars, and now what are they winning?

SPEAKER_03

So it's costless.

SPEAKER_02

We we we got cut off right in the middle. We were on the edge of our seats. Back in your day, it was ten thousand dollars to win a show, and now yeah, two hundred and fifty thousand.

SPEAKER_05

Jesus Christ. All right, we'll we'll get back to him. Jay sent me two dollars. Thank you, Jay. Um, and his question is and is Andrew Jack now to be a threat to Derek? What do you think, Wendy?

SPEAKER_02

Uh he already was. I mean, he already was a threat to Derek. I mean, we uh we there were there were uh you know arguments to be made about Andrew placing ahead of Derek at this at this past Olympia. So I think that it's going to be it's gonna be uh an interesting battle, to say the least. Yeah, I think it's probably looking at a major threat for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no, a hundred percent. I think he is going to be a really big threat, especially if he comes in any butter. And there's another person that doesn't get enough credit. I mean, is Chris Asseto like the greatest coach of all time at this point? Really? No. I mean, I mean, the guy, how many Olympia champions, how many 212 champions, how many Arnold Classic champions does Chris Asseto have? It's unbelievable. A lot, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. A lot.

SPEAKER_05

But yes, I think if Andrew, if Andrew somehow, some way, which he's been doing, coming in better at every show, comes in five or ten percent better at the Olympia, it's gonna be very difficult to beat him. It really is. Uh, Derek and Samson, too. It's just gonna be too difficult because he's had the his symmetry and balance is god given, and now his muscularity and his conditioning and his posing is better with every show. So, yes, he's going to be a huge and he's a consummate professional. Yeah, he uh conducts himself like a professional.

SPEAKER_02

Um which one who conducts himself like a professional?

SPEAKER_05

Andrew Jackson. You don't think so, Wendy? You can say it.

SPEAKER_02

No, I mean he does he he is he he's he's a great representation right now for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think there were some there were some there was some some weird stuff online, some back and forth, some drama that was going on before I think he was a little bit like he was kind of involved in, but I think that's that's in the past. Um I think you know, as we continue to to move forward and we see him emerge on the scene, we're seeing a really good version of Andrew.

SPEAKER_05

You know what? You might be right, Wendy, because it's it's very easy to conduct yourself like a professional when you're winning. You you might you know, you know, I might be giving him I might be giving him credit too soon. Let's see when he had when he has a terrible loss, let's see how he conducts himself.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean I am gonna give him credit up until we should give people credit when they when they are um we should like I believe in when when somebody you know shows up, they do their homework, they they give the fans and everyone what they what they want, and they are they deserve to get the credit.

SPEAKER_05

Absolutely, especially when they're consistent with it, a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm on board with that.

SPEAKER_05

And we've never seen anybody quite like him either. Like he's so massive, he's so tall and so massive and so wide. Um he he's kind of like he he's almost changing the the credentials for bodybuilding. Yeah, you know, most of the time we see guys that are a little shorter in stature, thicker, rounder, harder, but he brings like this new physique that we've never really never really have seen before. Yeah, uh and I think it's probably it's probably more difficult for the judges to deal with than we than we understand. You know, you get like like at the Arnold Ohio when you have him and you have Nick, and it's like whoa, this is apples and oranges, which one are we gonna pick? Jesus, you know. What do you think, Lee? You think he's uh he's gonna win the Olympia this year?

SPEAKER_07

Andrew, I think it's gonna probably come down between him and Samson because they're very close in height and stature, but you know, it's it's gonna be interesting to see. I'm not gonna make predictions yet, but if Samson can if Samson can hold on to a lot of that new size and come in rip, then it'd be hard, he'll be hard to beat. But if he doesn't keep that size and he doesn't come in hard, I could easily see because even last year, even though Derek won, I was looking at Hardy and Andrew over Derek last year. So I would have had no problem with Andrew winning last year. So if he comes in improved this year and Samson misses it, then you know, but if they're both in shape, it's going to be a good battle. I don't know if uh I'd take Derek out of it, probably. I'd probably go, you know, maybe with the Samson and Andrew for one and two. I don't see Derek really pushing them out because them being taller, Derek would have to be, I think, now, if he looked like he did last year, I don't think he'll win if they're at their best. So I think Derek's gonna have to bring an all-time best to beat Andrew and Samson if they're both on.

SPEAKER_05

No, no, I I I agree.

SPEAKER_02

I have a question for you guys. So we saw Patrick Moore come out of nowhere and get third, uh, jumping over Martin. Um, what are your thoughts on Patrick Moore?

SPEAKER_05

Because I I mean he's a week, there was a week lineup.

SPEAKER_02

Because I kind of I you know, I mean, I I haven't seen him place that high at a at a big I think John, I think John's exact words were stick with boxing.

SPEAKER_05

Something like something like that. Let's let's let's let's stick with boxing to be honest. There was the Arnold UK, but after Patrick Moore, it turned to dog shit. Nobody looked good before after that. Uh Martin looked horrible. Blessings curses his legs. Everybody after that is was crap. So it was really a weak lineup. Patrick came in good shape. He has he has a beautiful physique, he came in good shape, he came in good conditioning, and he was lucky that it was a weak lineup and he took it.

SPEAKER_07

Patrick, Patrick's almost like uh Beneckie. Beneckki, it's like I can see so much potential with Patrick if you could add more size or even just conditioning. It's almost like when you see Patrick, he looks great, but there's always just that something missing, like Lionel Beneckie had, or sometimes Roley had Ruley had. It's like you just want to see him at their best, and you start to get frustrated because you know they could be so much better. So I don't know what it is that the difference is not the difference.

SPEAKER_05

I think this is his best. You think I think this is you know, listen, some guys listen, maybe Patrick could dye it down and go classic. I think you'd have to lose a lot of size.

SPEAKER_02

He does have a very classic fit. He has a he has a good flow to his beautiful physique, 100%.

SPEAKER_05

Absolutely. But um, you know, once uh this was a weaker Arnold UK lineup. Um, you know, Andrew and Brandon looked great. Patrick looked good after that. It was really bad. It was really bad after that, you know. It was just, you know, I mean, I Martin looked worse in the finals than he did in pre-judging and because he was supposed to be in third, and they dropped him to fourth. And I wouldn't have been mad if they gave Pling fourth and and and Martin fifth.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, that's how have you guys called um Martin's aftermath? Like, has he shared any of his insight? I haven't I haven't seen. Has he shared his thoughts?

SPEAKER_05

I haven't seen anything. Not since the Arnold UK, but I mean Martin, and did Martin's girl do because she competed at the Arnold UK too. Oh, I don't know what I Even know. I didn't, you know what? That's a good question. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

She got fourth. She did really well.

SPEAKER_05

What um what category is she in, Wendy?

SPEAKER_02

Wellness, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And she got fourth. Okay. How many girls were in that category?

SPEAKER_02

I didn't even let this well, they only invite 200.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, really, right?

SPEAKER_02

They only invite like 12 girls.

SPEAKER_05

So then that's pretty good, though. Four out of 12 is pretty damn good, especially in that category.

SPEAKER_02

So whenever I would get an invite to the Arnold, it's so funny because like I would tell I would give my placing, but it's like they would select they get the Arnold, Ohio. They they picked 10 women in the whole world to compete. And then people would say, Oh, you got that place out of how many? And I'm like, Well, 10, but they only invited 10 out of all the hundreds of women that apply. They only invited 10 of us. Yeah. It was like 10 girls, but it's kind of like against everyone.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's 10, 10 of the best in the world. But you have to put your entrance in, right? You have to put your paperwork in.

SPEAKER_02

And then it's like a resume. You have to you have to submit, you have to give your bio and submit a resume. You're like applying for a job. And then they and then they select based off of and they look at your social media following, they look at your record, they look at your we did we didn't have social media back when I did the arnel.

SPEAKER_07

I just put my name down and got picked every time because they said we need some arsehole in the show. We need an arsehole in the show, so we'll get leaving.

SPEAKER_05

No, it was probably a lot. It was it was probably a lot easier to pick back then because you didn't have as many pros, you know.

SPEAKER_01

That's true. That's true.

SPEAKER_05

You know, you you you know, back then to get a pro card was extremely difficult for bodybuilding.

SPEAKER_07

The Arnold lineup was like the Olympia, yeah. Nearly hard to get a thing, but you look at the Iron Man show, the Arnold classic. Most pro shows were almost Olympia lineup, apart from Dory not being there or Ronnie not being there, everyone else, Kevin, Chris, Flex, whoever, were pretty much in every show, which was great for the fans because they're getting to see the top guys at so many shows and going back to how it is now, where Nick might do one show or some big other name might do a show, and then they're like, That's it, I'm shutting it down for the year. And all the fans are like, You're not competing for a whole year, and they don't realize when they're young, shit can happen. You could be like in shape where Nick didn't do Detroit or anyone else didn't do the Armored UK. You think, okay, I'm gonna go put more size on two weeks later, you tear something, you get injured, your career could be over. So while you're in shape and you can do it, guys and girls, get out there and fucking do it. If you diet it down, my God.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I know. It's it's it's bodybuilding has changed dramatically in the last you know 20, 25 years. Um, and I don't know whether it's good or bad, uh, to be honest with you. I I sometimes too.

SPEAKER_07

You hear these guys and girls when they say what show you're doing next, I need to speak to my coach. It's like you're the athlete. You tell the coach what shows you want to do, and that coach should get bring you into those shows in shape. Why is it up to your coach to pick your fucking show? Give me a break. What they don't want to ruin their reputation if you don't come in shape or not. Oh, now I've got a loser, I don't have a winner on my hands. Like, fuck off.

SPEAKER_05

Uh John donated five dollars. He says, Wendy is such an amazing spokeswoman and beautiful. If magazines were around, she'd have most covers proud of you, Wendy. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, thank you. Wow. Let me get come on, let me get my phone.

SPEAKER_07

Well, he says you're beautiful. That means I must be handsome because I had a lot of covers back in my day. When I was younger, no tattoos, no tattoos on the face when I was younger.

SPEAKER_02

You know, you're handsome. Come on.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, after a few of these. After a few of these, I look really I look really good after a few of these.

SPEAKER_05

Anybody looks good after a couple of those, Jesus. Watch out, Nashville, John.

SPEAKER_06

Once you've had a few of us.

SPEAKER_01

Like, you got you know, you got it going on over there.

SPEAKER_07

Another six years, I'll be 60. Oh my god, how'd that happen? Wow, really?

SPEAKER_02

Are you serious?

SPEAKER_07

John's 50 coming up.

SPEAKER_02

You don't look a day over 54.

SPEAKER_07

No, thank you. I'm not 50, I'm not 54 yet, bitch. I'm fucking 53 still. So you just made me older, thank you.

SPEAKER_06

When are you gonna be 50?

SPEAKER_02

You said six years are gonna be 60. So I didn't know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, I'm almost 54.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think you look that old. I'm I'm doing math here.

SPEAKER_05

I'm John's birthday is coming up soon. Next week. I will be 50 next week. It's the 5-0.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, a lot younger than that.

SPEAKER_05

I know, thank you. I'm still sexy, Wendy. I'm still sexy, thank you very much. Still sexy. That's why I can't wait for um I can't wait for uh Nashville. I'm going on vacation. You're gonna age 20 years overnight then.

unknown

Oh gosh.

SPEAKER_07

When you get home, your wife's gonna be like, what the hell happened to you? I'm gonna like it all.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm bringing all my media kit with me to there, so I'll get it all. Don't worry. Oh, tell her I tell her I'll get the I'll get the goods.

SPEAKER_07

We're going to the Sundiner. The Sun Diner is the best place for breakfast. They have good breakfast there right near the Pat Pat uh Johnny Cash Museum, the Sundiner, because Sun Records used to do the records. That's a real I always eat at the Sundiner, it's really nice.

SPEAKER_05

Well, what time do you go to get breakfast? Hold on. I might you you're an early early.

SPEAKER_02

No, not 3 a.m. He's probably gonna be able to get it.

SPEAKER_07

You can go to Sundiner anytime.

SPEAKER_02

No, he's he's gonna get breakfast at like a 3 a.m. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I was actually surprised in Nashville walking down the street. People think I'm famous because every time I went past a bar, pretty much the security on all the doors knew who I was or take photos. So then the group of people walking past go, who's that? He must be famous.

SPEAKER_02

I have some news for you. You are famous.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, really. Yeah, I know. Not in the real world. I'm not I'm the only one that famous on this podcast right now. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_07

I was at the grocery store just before I got home here and had to get some stuff at the grocery store, and the young kid at the checkouts, like, oh hi, um, I don't know you, but my friends tell me they've seen you on the trend twin videos.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's about the young crowds. No, John, I'm gonna tell you the story, okay? We're at the Arnold. Lee comes over because I obviously like you know, to say hi to Lee, him say hi to me or whatever. For me to get to the young LA booth, it was just not happening. I mean, they they were they had like a fire hazard, literally a fire hazard.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Lee was telling me.

SPEAKER_02

And so he comes over just to say hi. He just stops, says hi, and I am not kidding you, this is no exaggeration. We had athletes at the rain booth that had like you know, their lines or whatever. Lee comes on the total opposite side of the booth just to say hi, and the lines on both ends start forming out of the door to say hi to Lee. And he stays there for like an hour just doing photos and and stuff at the rain booth with lines out the door on both sides.

SPEAKER_05

On the rare occasion, somebody when somebody recognizes me on my podcast, like uh and they and they uh and they want to talk to me on the rare occasion. Uh you have to get rid of me. I'm so I'm so flattered. I'm like, I'll stay there for like a half hour and talk to you.

SPEAKER_07

I'm gonna I'll get I'll get you a shirt that says I'll get you a shirt, John, that says I'm Lee Priest's friend. No, yeah, gee, thanks.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

One thing I'm not is Lee's flunky. So I know, I know Lee Priest.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. On the back.

SPEAKER_02

That's gonna be that's gonna be my claim to fame. I know Lee Priest.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

That's not very that's not a big claim to fame.

SPEAKER_05

Say that again, Wendy.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna get lines out the door because I'm gonna have a shirt that says I know Lee Priest.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's my claim to fame.

SPEAKER_05

No, I'm actually really looking forward to Nashville. I'm actually, I've never been there. I've always heard it's a great town, great bars, uh, great restaurants.

SPEAKER_07

Did you did you see that thing on YouTube now? They're probably getting in trouble. Or was on Instagram as well. That um was it Apache or a Black Hawk helicopter flew down near Chris Rock's house? Really? You're standing out. His house, he actually lives in Nashville near the mountains. I guess he's got like his house, is actually looks like a smaller version of the White House and it was by the pool, and his fucking helicopter come down and he's saluted and it's just hovering there. So now the military said they're looking into who did that and were they flying in in unrestricted airspace and that. So they flew down, and Kid Rock saluted the helicopter. So that's the knew it's Kid Rock's house that I just flew down to pay respects to it. Kid Rock or Chris Rock?

SPEAKER_05

Kid Rock. Oh, okay. You said Chris Rock. I was gonna say Chris Rock. I thought lived in Jersey, but these guys have multiple houses.

SPEAKER_02

Come on, bow what's the bow? Get with it, John. Come on.

SPEAKER_05

No, he's he said Chris. I'm not deaf. I'm not deaf.

SPEAKER_02

I did not, I said kid, go back.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, all right, it is recorded.

SPEAKER_02

We have it on video.

SPEAKER_05

But yeah, you would think that people would have you know more of a half a brain than to fly that low. And I mean, I understand that he's a celebrity, but it's like maybe we shouldn't fly the helicopter that low.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, it's just but it's like it's on a mountain, so really it was high still because he's on the big hill, so it wasn't like it was near the ground, you're still up really high.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you know, like I said, if you you know, if you can't stand being a public figure, then go be a plumber and you know nobody ball you, you know.

SPEAKER_07

These are the things you just ring you up and say it's still late, can you prick come back? It's still not flashing.

SPEAKER_05

This is the trade-off you have when you're when you're famous, you get the money, but you also get uh no privacy. It's the trade-off. That's it.

SPEAKER_02

It does seem to be the kind of the the the trend, you know. I mean, that's where we see the cream. Like I said, that's where we see the cream that rises at the top. Yeah, if if you you could be the best, most talented, but if you can't handle the heat, it's kind of that's the that seems to be the killing feel to some of the greatest.

SPEAKER_07

100%, absolutely. Yeah, no, just kind of take yourself seriously. That's what I hate when people get famous, whether it's bodybuilding or anything, singing, acting, you're still just a person. Get over yourself. So you make lots of money. Who gives a shit in the end? Like I said, you're a great actor, you're a great bodybuilder, someone's a great bummer or a great electrician, doesn't make you better than anybody else just because you have money. But the egos that some people get, I just can't stand. It's like, you know who I am.

SPEAKER_06

It's like, who gives a fuck who you are?

SPEAKER_05

That's why me and Lee are good friends because you didn't give a shit about my podcast. He's just like, Yeah, oh come on, don't worry about it. I just come on because no one else will talk to me.

SPEAKER_02

Well, well, that's why Lee, that's why you have stayed so relevant because you uh you and it's it's funny because you'll you'll say something on your Instagram, you're just like kind of casually talking on your couch, you're like laying down, no fancy lights or production or anything like that. And then all the outlets they'll pull little clips from you just talking on your couch. Yeah, he says, da da da like Lee's opinion is like people really listen to you because you just keep it real.

SPEAKER_07

Well, he's some advice. I'm gonna give some advice. People should not listen to me.

SPEAKER_05

You know, people listen, people people could people generally speaking, people could see who's phony and who is a real a real person, right?

SPEAKER_02

Someone called you a goober.

SPEAKER_05

What the hell's a goober?

SPEAKER_07

That's like a like a like a polite way to say idiot, isn't it? Really? All right, silly. I never heard of that. I'm the first one to admit I'm a fucking idiot. I say that all the time.

SPEAKER_05

People definitely mistake me for Vin Diesel all the time. Yes. Oh my gosh, you do not recently, not recently, because Vin Diesel has become extremely fat. Um maybe that's the one they're talking about.

SPEAKER_02

That's your doppelganger, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um, but this was Wendy. One time I was on a cruise, right? I was on a Norwegian cruise, right? And I was at the buffet, and one of the crew members walks over to me, right, and says, What's your name? And I looked at him, I said, Do you think Vin Diesel will be on a Norwegian cruise line at the buffet line? Do you really think that, you know? And and I was like, No, I'm not him. I mean, uh, it was uh danger.

SPEAKER_07

No, I didn't I didn't think you were. I thought you were a fucked up Bruce Willis.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. I get I get Vin Diesel, and I also get um there's one drunk guy in Puerto Rico. I just didn't even try. And Chris Daughtry, yes, yeah, I get Chris Daughtery too. But there was this one drunk guy, I was on a vacation in Puerto Rico, and this guy just walked up to me and he's like, I was here and they were filming um what's what's this what's his Fast and Furious and they filmed it and I was just like, This guy was so drunk, I would just let him believe that I was Bend Diesel. I was like, okay, just go with it. It could be Telly Savalising his hand. He thinks I'm he was there, you know.

SPEAKER_07

Most of the people telly Savalas. What about you? What about Yill Brenner? You could be Yill Brenner. Who the hell is Yill Brenner? Yeah, he'll he was in the king and I. He was in the original West World. Remember West World where he was around, okay.

SPEAKER_05

You could be you could be my sister's vagina.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I do get caught a cunt, I do get caught a cunt a lot, so yeah, I understand. I could be anyone's vagina, just depending on how big I am at the time. Yeah, gosh. My sister's vagina looks like a Venus. My eyes are watering, John, so the vagina's wet at the moment. You must be turning me on.

SPEAKER_05

All right, that's as disgusting as we're gonna get tonight. No more. We have a lady on with us tonight.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's it, no more vagina talk. Blaine John, you started it. I was being polite the whole fucking show. All right, Wendy. So, um, are you gonna be in where where are you gonna be, uh Lee? In Frankfurt? Are you going to Germany, Wendy, or no?

SPEAKER_07

No, I got yeah, FIBO, and then I come back from FIBA. I'm only home a week, and then I'm in Mexico for five days, then I'm home a week, and then I'm in Italy for two weeks, then I'm home a week, and then I think it's Nashville, and then we've said after Nashville, I'm going to some gyms up Illinois, Colorado, Florida, and then back home.

SPEAKER_05

Wow, yeah. I hope you're making good bank. Holy shit. I need you to pay off his crypto tax bill. So Wendy, you're not gonna be in FIBO. You just are you or you're gonna be just in that home?

SPEAKER_02

I would love to, but I I'm gonna be uh seeing the uh Wasatch Warrior in Salt Lake City the same weekend.

SPEAKER_04

Oh very much.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like everyone is gonna be in FIBO. I'm having FIBO uh phone.

SPEAKER_07

You better not go to FIBO. I think you're stalking me.

SPEAKER_02

I'm yeah, maybe I am.

SPEAKER_07

But it's okay. Look, if I had a stalker, it'd be great. If even if the stalker wanted to kill me, at least you'd feel wanted that somebody wanted you that bad, they followed you everywhere. That's like a good feeling, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_02

I wish I was gonna be there. I wish I was gonna be there and see you, Lee. That would be so much fun. But and ever I feel like everyone's gonna be in feeble. Like, I can't tell you how many people are. Are you gonna be in feeble? Are you gonna be able to do that?

SPEAKER_07

Well, it's like it's a that's a huge I had I've only been there twice. I'd say like the Arnold Classic, the Arnold Classic Expo times that by 50. That's how big it is in different balls, you get lost. And if they've even got a pro show, and I think we even mentioned it before. We don't apart from SAS, we don't even know who's doing the pro show in FIVA. I know again, again, there's another pro show that people are just letting go by. Sass Harati's doing um.

SPEAKER_05

I think he is, yeah. I think he is, yes. That's another guy that puts the work in.

SPEAKER_02

I want to plan a go next year. I'm gonna map it out because I I definitely I've never been, so I go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, um, I will not when is Phoebo?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, April 16th.

SPEAKER_05

In two weeks. Yeah, 16th, 15th, 16th, 17th. I will be I will be on my way to the Bahamas. I will not be in Phoebe. The Bahamas?

SPEAKER_01

For your birthday?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I will be in the try drowning. Do you want to hear what a little punk I was when I was in high school, uh Wendy?

SPEAKER_02

I'd love to.

SPEAKER_05

I used to I grew up in New York, so back then people used to hang out on the corner. Right? Back then, if you if you were lived in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, you used to go meet your friends on the corner. So where we used to hang out in high school, there was uh a Marines like a recruitment center. So I was hanging out, you know, just doing nothing. I was like 17, 18, whatever I was. And uh one of the Marines comes out and he says, Young man, when are you gonna when are you gonna join the Marines? And I said, I don't know, tell me when you invade the Bahamas or Martha's Vineyard or something. And then of course he couldn't take a joke because he was a Marine. He's like, I don't think we're gonna do that, young man. And I was like, it's a joke, fucking idiot. But yeah, I literally said, Tell me when you're gonna be invade the Bahamas. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

But now I've never been there, so I'm going there for my birthday, so that should be very fun. And then after that, we will be in the flying down or taking a cruise. No, we're flying down, we're flying down, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I'm not, you know what? I've I've been on three cruises, and I'll be honest with you, one uh uh two out of the three were like eh. I'm not like uh if I never go on a cruise. Kids don't I don't mind the kids. I don't mind just throwing overboard, yeah. But like I don't I don't mind kids, but um Royal Caribbean was the one that I went on that was really nice. The other two, one was Norwegian and the other one was like the other one was Royal Caribbean too. But if I never go on a cruise again, it wouldn't bother. Like the only way I would like willingly go on a cruise is if like everybody's like, We're going on a cruise, you want to come like like all friends, then yeah, because it's a party no matter what, right?

SPEAKER_07

So yeah, I would uh yeah, and imagine too, like if your missus was really drunk and you've had enough of her, and you're in bed and she's looking over the balcony, you just go, go back to bed. We lost her. What happened in the morning? You wake up and go, where is she? We could do a we could do a Christopher Walken and what's his name when Natalie Wood went over to side, didn't she? Was it Natalie Wood or whoever? What was it?

SPEAKER_02

Don't go on a cruise with Lee.

SPEAKER_05

No, I'm not going on a cruiserly.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, there's a guy that came to Australia. This businessman came to Australia, got away with it because he brought his big multi-million dollar yacht down to Australia, and you know what happened? His wife fell overboard, and a crocodile got her. Oh man, that's they always suspect, they always suspected him, but they could never prove it.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm sure there's plenty of times you would have liked that being divorced five times, or being divorced four times, rather. I'm sure you wish there were times that you could have just had a crocodile eat one of them and save some. Come on, same suspect. I'm not angry at any of them.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not angry. Wendy's good friends with one of my exes Adela. Come on, now who the hell?

SPEAKER_05

Which one is Adela? Who the hell is that? How many wives have you got? Eight times fitness Olympia, John.

SPEAKER_04

Oh really?

SPEAKER_05

I didn't even like he's got he had so much. I've had one fucking wife like a normal person.

SPEAKER_07

Excuse me, I'm always in relationships, I'm not playing the field. At least I commit, or I should be committed. At least I commit when I get with someone.

SPEAKER_05

That's not commitment, Lee. He loves love.

SPEAKER_02

You can't blame him. He loves love.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's a very nice thing to say. I'm like Benji, I go from town to town, I help him, and then I move on.

SPEAKER_06

Little as hobo dog. I go in, I help him.

SPEAKER_05

Well, the one with the dolphin that used to help everybody. Flipper. Flipper, flipper. That's the flipper was in the same area.

SPEAKER_07

Um, little as hobo would go to a town, he'd see someone in trouble, he'd help him out, and then he'd move on to the next town and move. I'm almost like I'm like Michael Landon from Highway to Heaven.

SPEAKER_06

I just can be my sidekick that travels with me, John, and we just go down to town. Helping people. Well, you've got a new house and TV. What do you want it here?

SPEAKER_02

The two new together, I can only imagine.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I can't wait. It's gonna you promise promise me you're coming with us to a karaoke bar.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm all right, good, good, good.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not gonna miss that. Are you kidding me?

SPEAKER_07

All right, and just when John and Lee try and go and John Lee say to each other, thank god no one saw that. We're going online the next day, and Wendy's got a video up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_02

Are you kidding me? No, I'm kidding.

SPEAKER_05

It's gonna be fun. We're gonna have a good time. I can't. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it'll be fun.

SPEAKER_05

Wendy, um, first I want to say thank you very much for coming on.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

Um, you uh are a tremendous person uh and a trem right tremendous representative of bodybuilding in the sport. I want to give you all uh credit and just do because you truly are. Uh I appreciate you and uh uh uh we keep in touch. Sound like Oprah. Shh, I really uh appreciate appreciate you. Coming on, and uh you will always be welcome on. Don't be surprised if you get another uh text in a couple of weeks asking you to come on. Uh, but uh, all love and respect to you, Wendy. Thank you so much for coming on and dealing with me and Lee in this crazy podcast.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, my turn now, John. What do you want to say to me?

SPEAKER_05

Okay, tell me. You'll you know, tell me how much you appreciate me coming on, John. No, I tell you way too much. Uh fuck off.

SPEAKER_02

I thought I thought I thought it was your turn.

SPEAKER_07

Wendy how you enjoyed having me on because it's your Wendy, it's good having he's like, Wendy, it's good having you on. You're so great, Wendy, or this shit that Lee, fuck you. See you next week.

SPEAKER_05

Wendy, do you know that one time I threw uh Lee off the show and he came back the next time? Nope, like like nothing happened.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's how you guys roll.

SPEAKER_06

That's one thing that was funny because John, I think I think what John was on about, but I just kept rolling my eyes, going, Oh so John, I can see what he's doing. I'm like, I said to John, you gotta kick me off the architect.

SPEAKER_02

I'm actually jealous of the way that that men operate. You guys just oh it's a full-blown, like you're pissed off at each other, and then you just you catch back up the next time, like nothing ever happened. I'm jealous.

SPEAKER_07

I thought I've just thought it was funny because John was trying to be serious about something, and I'm like, uh I don't even remember what the topic was, to be honest. I know, and John's like, Lee, Lee, I just keep going. Uh he's like, Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't remember what women hold grudges and like I'll have to I'll have to look back.

SPEAKER_07

I think I think in the title, I think in the title it says John, I kick Lee off. I'll have to go back and forth.

SPEAKER_05

I did, I did. I clipped it and I put it on Instagram. I don't remember fuck. I don't remember what I don't even uh but that that's how much it really doesn't matter. I don't even remember what what it was about. But yeah, Wendy, you happen to be right. This is how guys operate. This I mean, I work. This is how we this is how how it is where I work because I I'm a sewer worker in New York City, and we'll have an argument. Literally, I've had arguments, and after lunch, like it's like nothing happened anymore because it's just that's a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's I think that's a beautiful thing.

SPEAKER_05

Women can have an argument and they that's it, they don't talk for the rest of their lives. That's it.

SPEAKER_07

They will talk, but they won't forget and they'll bring it up many times.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and they'll and they'll tell everybody.

SPEAKER_07

I'm over that, I'm over that, yeah. Sure.

SPEAKER_05

And they'll tell everybody that you slept with my husband and he's a piece of shit. He's gonna talk. Like, what Jesus, we just had an argument. Relax.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not gonna do that.

SPEAKER_05

Wendy, really, truly, thank you very much for coming on. I appreciate it very much.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you, thank you so much.

SPEAKER_05

All right, so we will catch up and we'll definitely be together in Nashville. And I will I will uh hit you up soon, Wendy. Thank you very much, Lee. Of course, thank you for coming on, bro.

SPEAKER_07

These different colored lights I could have had on me going, look. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Are you holding on on us?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, hold on, I gotta go. The police are here.

SPEAKER_05

All right, guys, have a good night. I'll see you soon.

SPEAKER_02

Bye.

SPEAKER_05

Bye bye later.
